Project Planner - Mechanical Contractor - Cork City Cork Office/Project Location : Cork City, Cork Employment Type: Permanent Work Location: Office Pay: €Competitive Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications Experience: 7+years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required Our client is a an established specialist in cleanroom construction, HVAC services, heat recovery and carbon emission reduction projects, as well as general mechanical and electrical services.
They service clients in all industry sectors, Bio Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Food & Dairy and Data Centre/Light Industrial sectors.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Planner will work on one of our clients key projects.
The office-based role will also have a sizeable 'on-site' element.
The Project Planner, in tandem with the project team, will be responsible for: Generating a project schedule Monitoring of project progress Preparing of both weekly and monthly progress reports Duties: Communicate with project manager and all project stakeholders to provide any necessary assistance and/or support Review project deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions throughout the duration of the project Preparation of schedules, coordination and monitoring of assigned project Monitor compliance of applicable codes and practices, in addition to quality assurance and quality control policies Identify items of interest or concern, then establish means and methods of recovery Report both internally and to the client when appropriate Compare the actual cost of development project to estimates Supervise staff in carrying out plans, programs, and services Travel as necessary to suppliers, conferences, and manufacturing facilities Support the project manager in monitoring and reporting project costs Coordinate with project managers to successfully deliver projects to clients Responsible for the profitable operation of large mechanical projects Requirements Relevant 3rd level qualification.
3+years work experience in project planning, ideally in industrial construction or mechanical engineering areas.
Previous experience working on site-based projects.
Strong commercial management background and awareness.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project Management & Primavera P6 portfolio management software.
Excellent presentation & IT skills.
