Senior Engineer / Planner
We currently have a requirement for a Senior Engineer interested in the planning and delivery of roads and streets projects to join our Roads and Streets team in Ireland. The successful candidate will work within the Roads and Streets team delivering a range of urban and rural design projects including road projects (both road improvements and new roads), urban street design incorporating Public Transport and Active Travel and Greenway projects.
The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience within an established consultancy with flexible working options between home and office. They will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects for high profile clients within Ireland and further afield. This role also offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.
Projects
* Rural and Urban Road Improvement Schemes working for Transport Infrastructure Ireland and local authorities;
* Active Travel projects in urban settings and rural Greenways;
* Public Transport Priority projects and Development of TII Publication documents and associated research projects with European partners such as Conference of European Directors of Road (CEDR);
* Design and Build / PPP projects working for leading Irish and overseas contractors.
Your responsibilities
* Work in a vibrant team delivering sustainable transport solutions on complex projects at various stages of development from planning, appraisal and environmental evaluation to detailed design, construction and handover.
* Managing the delivery of technical designs for major interurban roads projects and also urban street design incorporating active travel and public transport infrastructure components.
* Undertaking research and developing reports to provide technical advice to national transport authorities.
* Ensuring that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, strategies and technical guidance is interpreted and followed.
* Implementing the appropriate QA procedures for all deliverables and ensure compliance with H&S requirements.
* Communicating effectively and in a team environment with colleagues and project managers, other internal design disciplines, clients and contractors.

Your Education/Profile
* Level 8 Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or similar
* Transport, planning or environmental management related final year project / Masters Qualification desirable
* Charted Engineer with recognised body
* Strong digital skills and a keen interest in developing sustainable infrastructure solutions
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
