Financial ControllerThe Financial Controller at Paul Byron is responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the senior management team while ensuring the company's finances are planned, organised and efficient.FC will provide accurate reporting and management of accounts. The successful candidate will be the key point of contact for all financial and accounting related queries from both the management team and the wider business.There will be a lot of opportunity to develop within this role as the company continues to grow; this is a hands-on role for an accountant in a thriving business.The ideal candidate will have a commercial mindset to go along with strong accounting abilities; this role is built for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who looks for opportunities to trade based on sound financial data.FC will oversee and improve our financial systems and work closely with the senior management team on business and financial strategy. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow with an independent established business.Your Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day finance operationsEnsure efficient and cost-effective payment of suppliers each weekPreparation of accounts for auditorInvoice managementMonitor and report on operations and performance with monthly dashboards and weekly KPI's for the management teamWork on a project to replace manual processes with more efficient automated systems where possiblePreparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flowsWork with buying team to ensure seasonal supplier budgets are maximising GP potential for the businessImprove current reports as well as develop and create new reports for the broader businessManagement of labour budget and planningDriving the quarter-end processWorking with colleagues to ensure completeness of financials for all areas of their responsibilitiesEnsuring all Balance Sheet accounts are clean and without material differences and being able to spot issues and resolve/escalate them quicklyResponsible for the commentary on the Balance Sheet/P&L variance to budgetAnalytical review reporting of key expense variances to budget/forecast and provide recommendations to drive business performanceDeliver high quality financial reporting and analysis to assist with understanding and recognising trends and collaborating on driving financial performance improvement opportunitiesManage capital expenditure project spends, return on investment and cost/benefit analysis and report on spend monthlyMonthly reviews to improve budget accuracyProduce timely and accurate department margin analysis on a monthly basisSupport all branches and departments of the company by providing meaningful business data to enhance net marginsManaging tax compliance including co-operating with external tax advisorsLiaising with external auditors on the delivery of financial statement auditsPreparation of statutory returns- VAT, PAYE, PRSI etc.Preparation of Annual AccountsWhat you will need:Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA Or Similar Qualifications).Minimum 5 years post qualification experience.Good knowledge of local accounting standards, IFRS and payroll calculationExperience in group reporting for statutory purposes according to relevant deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Track record of implementing change and new processes in the finance function.An open and enquiring mind- interested in problem solving with the confidence to ask questions.Benefits:Full time permanent hybrid working role (1-2 day WFH option once established in the role)A competitive salaryStaff discount scheme20 Days Holidays + Bank Holidays.Company laptop and mobileJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Company pensionEmployee discountOn-site parkingStore discountWork from homeSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayNo weekendsAbility to commute/relocate:Ballinagard, Roscommon, CO.
