EHS Specialist
Asset Recruitment is recruiting an EHS Specialist for a contract position on behalf of our client, a growing pharmaceutical manufacturer in Carlow.
In this role, you will provide technical guidance to the organization to ensure compliance with legal requirements related to EHS as well as the company's corporate standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines related to EHS and industry best practices. This includes ensuring that all health and safety regulatory requirements on the site are met in accordance with the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement EHS programs to ensure compliance with local legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
This includes but is not limited to:
* Risk assessments
* Contractor management
* Incident investigation
* Emergency response
* Chemical management
* Waste management
* Water & air management
* Ergonomics
* Bio risk
* Equipment & machine safety
* Industrial hygiene
* High risk work (e.g., hot work, confined space entry, work at height, etc.)
Key Tasks:
* Assist operational departments in achieving and establishing compliance.
* Prepare reports to site, divisional and/or corporate management and regulatory agencies.
* Evaluate all EHS applicable requirements for any new projects and processes (along with other site departments where necessary) as well as changes in the existing processes and installation.
The ideal candidate will bring EHS experience in the Biologics/Pharmaceutical industry, but experience in other highly regulated industries will also be considered.
Requirements:
* Technical bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety or Science/Engineering qualification.
* A Post-grad EHS qualification would be a plus.
* 3+ years' EHS experience in Pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industry.
* Proven track record of success in the environmental health and safety sector.
* Experience in supporting multiple activities/projects.
* Technically strong with an understanding of a variety of EHS topics.
* Innovative & Compliance-minded, with the drive to seek out necessary information.

* Team player, capable of working within a multi-functional team environment; and to periodically lead teams.
* Ability to influence others across Departments.
* Self-directed, capable of using own initiative to make EHS improvements.
* Dedicated to maintaining high standards and ensuring things are done properly onsite – 'right first time.'

Estimated Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per annum
