What is the role?
The person in this role is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation and optimisation of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role ensures the successful planning, execution and delivery of the ERP program aligning with business objectives, stakeholder expectations and industry best practices.
What are the key responsibilities?
ERP Implementation & Delivery
1. Lead the end-to-end planning, execution and delivery of the ERP program.
2. Define project scope, objectives, timelines and deliverables in alignment with business goals ensuring integration with existing systems and processes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
1. Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external vendors and implementation partners.
2. Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment.
3. Advise on vendor relationships, contracts and service agreements.
Project Governance & Risk Management
1. Ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
2. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively.
3. Monitor and control project budgets, schedules and resources.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
1. Lead cross-functional teams, providing direction, support and motivation.
2. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency and accountability.
3. Facilitate workshops, training sessions and stakeholder meetings to drive engagement.
Change Management & User Adoption
1. Communicate project updates, benefits, and expectations to stakeholders.
2. Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption.
Continuous Improvement & Post-Implementation Support
1. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
2. Ensure lessons learned are documented and applied to future projects.
What education and experience are required?
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
2. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable however not essential.
3. 08+ years of project management experience with at least 3 years managing ERP implementations or large-scale enterprise system projects.
4. Proven track record successfully delivering end-to-end ERP projects.
5. Strong experience working with cross-functional teams.
6. Hands-on experience with change management, stakeholder engagement, and business process transformation.
7. Solid understanding of ERP methodologies, software development life cycles and Agile/Waterfall project management frameworks.
8. Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, risk management and compliance within ERP implementations.
9. Strong vendor management experience, including contract negotiations and performance management.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
1. Knowledge of ERP systems and best practices for implementation.
2. Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
3. Business Process Mapping: Ability to analyse and optimise business processes to align with ERP capabilities is an advantage.
4. Risk & Compliance: Understanding of regulatory, security and compliance requirements related to ERP deployments.
5. Data Migration & Integration: Experience with system integrations, data migration and testing strategies.
6. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align ERP project with business objectives.
7. Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to engage, influence and manage expectations across senior leadership, business units and technical teams.
8. Change Management: Expertise at driving organisational change, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems.
9. Communication & Presentation: Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business-friendly language.
10. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, manage risks and drive timely resolutions.
11. Collaboration & Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and foster a culture of accountability and performance.
