Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Solar PV Electrician to join their team. As a Solar PV Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, agricultural, and commercial properties. Your duties will include working with electrical components, wiring, inverters, and solar panels to ensure safe and efficient operation of solar energy systems.
Responsibilities:
* Install solar PV systems according to design specifications and local electrical codes.
* Perform electrical wiring and connections for solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
* Test and commission solar PV systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
* Troubleshoot and repair any issues with solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
* Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of solar PV installations to ensure optimal operation and safety.
* Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients regarding system installation, maintenance, and operation.
* Keep accurate records of work performed, including installation diagrams, maintenance logs, and service reports.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices for solar PV installation and maintenance.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Solar PV Electrician or similar role, with a minimum of 2 and preferred 3+ years in the solar energy industry.
* Valid electrician's license or certification in Ireland (RECI qualified or Qualified Certifier).
* Micro Solar Photovoltaic Systems Implementation (QQI / FETAC course code 6N0306) and Micro-Generator Electrical Installation (QQI / FETAC course code 6N0307) or equivalent SEAI recognised course.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits.
* Familiarity with solar PV components, including panels, inverters, racking systems, and mounting hardware.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
* Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
* Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
* Safe Pass.
* Full clean driver’s license with a willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Additional certifications or training in solar PV installation and maintenance.
* Experience with battery storage systems and grid-tied solar installations.
