Finance Officer
VANRATH is assisting our client in finding an experienced Finance Officer.
The role of the Finance Officer is to assist the Finance Manager and Director of Corporate Services in efficiently managing the organisation's finances.
This position is part of a small finance team, which works closely together to manage the organisation's finances.
* Process monthly salaries, including related returns for matters such as taxes, superannuation, and income tax.
* Ensure the security and safekeeping of assets and resources.
* Supervise the preparation and recording of bank lodgements and efficient cash handling of funds.
* Supervise the petty cash system and accounts payable function.
* Reconcile Credit Card statements.
* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow reports.
* Input journals into the computerised accounts system.
* Assist in producing monthly management accounts and reviewing departmental expenditure.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
Assist in preparing the statutory accounts for each financial year in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
Assist in preparing the Annual Budget and 3-year Financial Plans.
E nsure that financial policies, processes, procedures, and controls are applied consistently and documented properly in the up-to-date Financial Policies and Procedures Manual.
Qualifications and Experience
A recognised CCAB accountancy qualification (CA Ireland, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS) or strong experience with a part-qualification is required.
Experience of using and developing computerised financial systems and procedures is necessary.
Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills are essential.
This role requires a qualified individual who can provide excellent support to the Finance Manager and Director of Corporate Services in managing the organisation's finances.
