Role Profile: Maintenance Person -
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Bruff
Role Overview
The Maintenance Person is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the CareBright hub and Community ensuring a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for all that live, work, and utilise the services in the hub.
Key Responsibilities
1.Facility Maintenance and Repairs
- Routine Repairs: Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, including basic plumbing, basic electrical and general repairs.
- Painting and Decorating: Undertake painting and decorating tasks to maintain the facility's appearance and create a homelike environment.
- Gardening: Assist with gardening tasks, including planting, pruning, and general garden maintenance to ensure attractive and safe outdoor areas.
2.Support for Residents and Day Centre Users
- Mini Bus Driving: Safely drive the facility's minibus for resident outings, appointments, and other transportation needs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
3.Supervision
- Contractor Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the work of external contractors, ensuring that work is completed to the required standards and within agreed timelines.
4.Health and Safety Compliance
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility and its equipment, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and organisational policies and HIQA regulations.
5.Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety inspections.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on maintenance activities, issues, and progress of ongoing projects.
Qualifications and Skills
-Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or residential care setting.
-Technical Skills: Strong skills in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, decorating, and gardening.
-Driving Licence: Valid driving licence with the ability to drive a minibus (Category D1 or equivalent may be required). -Desirable.
-Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, residents, and contractors and customers.
-Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
-Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure maintenance work is completed to a high standard.

Working Conditions
-Location: Based at CareBright, Bruff with occasional travel for maintenance-related activities.
-Hours: 4-day week - 10.00 AM -4.00 PM position, with flexibility required to address emergency maintenance issues outside regular hours.
-Environment: Working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to various weather conditions during gardening tasks.
