GxP Recruitment is delighted to be working with our global Medical Device client on this exciting role in Cork.
A Supplier Engineer plays a key role in all aspects of supplier selection, process changes, and technical support for purchased commodities. The Materials Supplier Engineering Team leads the technical resolution of non-conformances in the supply chain, ensuring business continuity and seamless integration of new products into manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical expertise on teams comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Business Units for all aspects of Supplier Management.
* Delivers Technical skills in Commodity Management.
* Supports Team objectives in terms of Quality, Cost, and Service.
* Drives Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability, and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.
* Investigates Material Quality issues, working with Quality, Procurement, and Business Units to resolve issues and disposition product.
* Promotes the Quality System within the Supply Base.
* Collaborates with Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection, and Business Units to ensure components meet established requirements.
* Evaluates Corrective Actions identified, implemented, and controlled by Suppliers.
* Provides guidance to other functional areas on applying Supplier Management system requirements.
* Contributes to developing, maintaining, and improving Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.
* Effectively communicates with Internal & External Stakeholders.
* Develops new Supply sources with Procurement Team.
* Assesses and Approves Supplier Requested Process Changes.
* Identifies, Supports, and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) throughout the Supply Chain.
* Transfers and implements processes from development or another manufacturing facility.
* Plays a key role in project planning, including detail planning for major projects, product/process transfers, etc.
* Develops and implements supporting documentation compliant with GMP, collaborating with team members.
* Leverages leadership skills to resolve problems hindering project progress.
* Escalates unresolved obstacles impacting project success.
Experience & Qualifications
* Level 8 qualification in an Engineering or Science discipline.
* Between 2- and 5-years' experience in a Supplier Engineering or Engineering Project Management Role.
* Supply Chain Project Management Experience.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Teamwork & collaboration are essential competencies for this role.
* Ideal experience in a regulated environment.
