Our Forklift Kiln position is responsible for the safe operation of a large forklift in the Kiln area of a sawmill. Must be forklift proficient and able to stack packs/pallets evenly.
What you will do:
* Complete equipment checks and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
* Transfer lumber between various plant operations and comply with applicable safety regulations.
* The employee chosen for this position will be required to perform the following key phases of Basic Care:
o Inspection of equipment.
o Service and minor adjustments to the equipment (when necessary).
o Cleaning of the equipment.
o Documentation and reporting of results.
What you need to be successful:
* Excellent safety record.
* Excellent attendance record.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Willing to perform all job assignments in an effective and timely manner with minimal supervision.
* Valid forklift driver's certificate or heavy equipment loader certification.
* Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment.
* Successfully complete pre-employment background, drug screen, physical assessment, and forklift competency test and performance.
* Must be able to work nights and weekends; no exceptions:
o Will work a four-day on and three-day off, then a three-day on and a four-day off schedule.
o Will have one day, either Saturday or Sunday, out of each week that you will be at work.
