The Treasurer is responsible for the prudential management of the Institute and he/she carries out this role by having oversight of & monitoring the financial activity of the organisation and reporting to the Board at regular intervals on its state of financial health, in line with best practice and in compliance with the constitution of the organisation and the legal requirements which the Institute is required to follow.The key roles and duties in summary are:Overseeing the management, budgeting and reporting of the financial affairs of the Institute (as per the Institute’s constitution).Leading in the Board’s duty to ensure that proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are properly controlled.Overseeing the implementation of and monitoring the financial control framework of the Institute and adherence to its systems;Acting as a counter signatory on financial documents as set out herein and as required by financial institutions;Board‐level liaison with the external auditors on specific issues such as the AuditorsLiaising with key external stakeholders (Auditors, Revenue Commissioners, Institute's Bankers).Chairing the Finance and Governance Committee (ex officio).Member of Community Employment Scheme Committee (ex officio).Chair of the Grants Sub-Committee
