Job Description
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in executing and completing projects. Primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate setting out and surveying of the construction site in alignment with project specifications and design drawings.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct accurate site surveys and set out the construction site according to project specifications, design drawings, and survey data.
* Use various surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels, to measure and mark reference points, lines, and levels on the site.
* Collaborate with the project management team and subcontractors to interpret design drawings, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
* Monitor and inspect construction activities to verify they are performed according to approved designs and specifications.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team regarding setting out, surveying, and related activities.
* Maintain accurate records of survey data, measurements, and site documentation for reference and future use.
* Assist in preparing and reviewing construction method statements, risk assessments, and other project-related documentation.
* Coordinate with external surveyors, architects, and engineers to ensure effective communication and collaboration on site-related matters.
* Conduct regular quality control inspections to identify and rectify any deviations or issues related to setting out and surveying.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on the construction site and promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate must have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer with setting out responsibilities.
* Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
* Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and surveying techniques.
* Familiarity with relevant software applications, including AutoCAD and surveying software.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
