Youth Development Officer (Permanent Full-Time)
Location: Raphoe
Salary range: €44,094.80 per annum
Experience: 3rd level qualification in Youth Work, Education or equivalent area. / Have a minimum of 3 years' full time post qualified experience of working with and using active learning methodologies with young people in group settings.

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a Youth Development Officer to join our Northwest Regional team in Raphoe, Donegal. The post holder will have responsibility for promoting and supporting the SVP Youth Development programme in the Northwest Region through various models of engagement, primarily through the support and development of Young SVP Conferences in schools and 3rd level institutions. To create awareness of the work of SVP and ultimately, to foster support for the organisation through building links with schools and between schools and local Conferences. To provide young people with the experience of helping others in some tangible way, an experience of being a volunteer and of making a difference to people that will provide them with opportunities for both personal and social development. To inspire people about the work of SVP and the importance of social justice. Candidate Requirements:
1. 3rd level qualification in Youth Work, Education or equivalent area.
2. Training in group facilitation and learning with young people.
3. A full clear Irish/ EU driving license and access to a car.
4. Have a minimum of 3 years' full time post qualified experience of working with and using active learning methodologies with young people in group settings.
5. Excellent IT skills including knowledge of record keeping and database systems.
6. Have previous experience of working in statutory/ voluntary/ community settings.
7. Strong presentation skills and skilled at public speaking.
8. Enjoys working with young people and is passionate about social justice.
