Maintenance Supervisor - Navan
Cpl are working with our client partner who are a heritage brand name in the insulation manufacturing business.
The company, established in Ireland 30 years ago, has recently merged with a global leader in the insulation industry, now part of an 8,000 strong workforce across 105 countries.
As the business continues along a path of rapid growth with a significant expansion plan in place, they are currently recruiting an experienced Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor to lead the team in their manufacturing facility in Navan.
This is a full-time permanent job opportunity working on a day shift.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Engineering Maintenance Supervisor will:
1. Lead a team of 9 skilled and high-performing maintenance technicians.
2. Coach and mentor the maintenance technician team and support continuous learning and development.
3. Champion a ‘Culture of Curiosity’ and promote open communication and engagement.
4. Be situationally aware regarding equipment conditions and use available resources to prioritize and address performance issues in real-time.
5. Maintain line-side presence and visibility to understand equipment performance-related issues.
6. Utilize the maintenance team's resources and skillset combined with data and standard problem-solving structures to improve system performance.
7. Coordinate and schedule technician rosters and manage time and attendance systems.
8. Manage shift cover for planned/unplanned absences and pre-approved vacation time off, and oversee shift-to-shift handover meetings.
9. Own training for maintenance team members, identifying training gaps and ensuring compliance with On-the-Job training plans (OJT).
10. Participate actively in the recruitment process within the maintenance technician function.
11. Develop, document, and communicate annual maintenance team performance objectives.
12. Adhere to all company and legislative health, safety, and environmental requirements linked to site goals.
13. Promote a positive safety culture with active participation in Safety Walks focusing on Situational Awareness.
14. Support corrective and preventative actions identified during safety walks and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
15. Ensure a Right First Time approach when executing technical protocols and verifying product quality before handing equipment back to manufacturing.
16. Coordinate all planned (PM) and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring safety mitigation and task sequencing are clear to all maintenance team members.
17. Provide feedback on critical spares concerns and stock levels to support equipment availability and uptime.
18. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Services projects teams to ensure compliance with site standards for new products and projects.
19. Monitor equipment waste levels across all process platforms and use data to develop real-time understanding of root causes and potential solutions.
About Your Skills & Experience:
1. Senior Trade Qualification / National Diploma / Relevant Engineering Degree.
2. Hands-on practical experience in manufacturing is an advantage.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across departments and functions.
4. Strong customer relations skills with the ability to meet demanding customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or similar role with demonstrated ability in developing and coaching a technical team.
6. Demonstrated history of implementing improvements in previous roles.
7. Strong decision-making and structured problem-solving practices.
8. Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
9. Strong technical knowledge of maintenance and calibration best practices.
10. Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
