Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Founder & Chairman at Failte Solar | Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2022 I EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, 2023Primary roleThe Financial Controller’s primary responsibility is to ensure high quality & accurate accounting, compliance and management reporting to relevant stakeholders.Strict adherence to statutory Accounting Practices is required and expected.Statutory Submissions – VAT, PAYE, CT, Company Filings.Daily management of the accounting team and reporting to the CFO.Preparation of monthly Financial & Management Accounts including statutory accounts.Producing accurate monthly financial reports to specific deadlines.Managing financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.Providing and interpreting financial information.Managing & approval of payroll & ongoing improvement in payroll process.The initiation, preparation and issuance of standard practices (or updates) relating to all accounting matters and procedures.Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.Analysing change and advising accordingly.Ensure the Company’s financial controls are maintained.Assist in the formulation of strategic and long-term business plans.Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., Auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organisations such as Revenue, CRO etc.Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.Preparation of budgets / forecasts.Preparation and submission of financial reporting materials in compliance with Group’s timetable.Support Management, site management and employees – review of project costs and departmental expenditure.Aid Senior Management in their decision making.Development and enhancement of Management reporting.Represent financial department - internally (e.g., multi-functional working groups), externally (e.g., customers, auditors, insurers, statutory bodies etc) and to the Group.Debtor monitoring and on time collections.Adhoc tasks as requested by CFO.Key QualificationsExperienced Accountant – With at least 5 years experience at FC level or similar.Thorough knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially within excel and word.Well organised and able to work under pressure.Ability to think ahead and communicate those thoughts / ideas.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to prioritise own workload and deliver to agreed standards.CompensationHighly competitive package including pension, healthcare and performance-linked bonus.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesRenewable Energy Semiconductor Manufacturing
