Company Description
We are a service that provides 24/7 transitional accommodation with support for women, and emergency and long-term accommodation for women and families experiencing homelessness. We are currently recruiting for the following positions: Shift Attendant/Support Worker x 2 to cover maternity leave.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Shift Attendant/Support Worker at Tintean Housing Association located in Waterford. We are currently looking to recruit 2 Staff to join our existing team for the purposes of covering maternity leave. As a service for women who have experienced trauma, we are currently recruiting WOMEN ONLY. You will be required to work hours assigned to you as designated by your Manager & Team Leader. The Shift Attendant/Support Worker will be responsible for monitoring and supervising the housing association's properties, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and maintaining a clean and secure environment. Day-to-day tasks include conducting regular checks of the premises, responding to emergencies, providing support to residents as needed, and reporting any issues to the management team. This maternity cover role requires attentive and compassionate individuals who can manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
FETAC Level 5 (or higher) healthcare qualification, or training in healthcare.
Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working in a social care setting.
Desirable:
B.A. in Social Care (NFQ Level 7) or higher is desirable for this position.
Distinct Advantage:
* Knowledge and understanding around addiction and mental health issues.
* Knowledge, understanding and experience of professional supervision.
* Experience of working as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience of working in the area of housing or homelessness would be a distinct advantage.
* Understanding of the basic issues relating to homelessness. Experience in a homeless sector service would be a distinct advantage.
* The ability to work in a trauma informed way.
* The ability to maintain professional boundaries.
* Experience in monitoring and supervising facilities.
* Ability to conduct regular checks and inspections.
* Strong emergency response and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and support skills.
* Ability to maintain cleanliness and security.
* Compassionate and attentive to resident needs.
* Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
* Relevant certifications or training in property management or security.
Expected hours:
4 week rolling rota comprising a combination of the following shift durations:
10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, Day shift, Holidays, Monday to Friday, Night shift, Overtime, Weekend availability.
