Our client is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their team for multiple projects in the Cork area.
You will collaborate closely with the project team, including engineers, BIM, estimation, procurement, sub-contractors, and clients, to ensure accurate and efficient cost control, estimation, and reporting.

Your Responsibilities Will Include: Collaborate closely with the estimation team to review and validate Mechanical and Electrical cost estimates for each project.
Manage cost control and identify potential commercial risks, ensuring prompt reporting of the same to management.
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with the estimation/BIM team to ensure accurate quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for Mechanical and Electrical systems and installations in each project.
Review mechanical and electrical drawings and specification revisions to ensure any changes are identified.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess work progress, validate quantities, and address any discrepancies.
Evaluate subcontractor's claims and prepare reports on quantities, rates, and payment applications.
Generate regular cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections for Mechanical and Electrical works.
Maintain accurate records of all Mechanical and Electrical cost-related documents, contracts, and correspondence.
Prepare and present cost reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Assist in the preparation of final accounts and settlement of claims.
Skills and Requirements Relevant third-level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics or related field.
Experience as a Mechanical and Electrical QS on large-scale construction projects.
Experience in Mechanical and Electrical cost control, estimation, and quantity surveying techniques.
Proficiency in using relevant QS software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Countfire, Excel).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Good organizational and time management abilities.
Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards related to Mechanical and Electrical works.
