Reporting to the General Counsel, the scope of the role will involve supporting the General Counsel and Davy Legal Team in enabling Davy to meet its strategic ambitions. This position requires a motivated and adaptable self-starter with proven experience of delivering work to tight deadlines and a team player who is also comfortable taking individual ownership of a number of activities. The responsibilities will be broad and will include the provision of legal support on a range of matters including but not limited to the following:Supporting the General Counsel on oversight of key strategic growth projects (organic and inorganic) and commercial contract management;Advising internal stakeholders, including leadership from across the business, to ensure a co-ordinated response to legal challenges primarily in the context of key projects and contracts for the business;Partnering with the business to advise on implementation of appropriate legal strategy including standardisation and streamlining of legal review processes;Supporting in development and management of the legal function whilst driving capability, capacity and cross-functional collaboration;Compliance with the risk & compliance framework, policies and procedures associated with the role;Identifying legal risk and suggesting alternatives or mitigation strategies that lead to optimal business solutions;Able to interact with, influence, advise and support key stakeholders at all levels across all parts of the business to ensure close alignment between Legal function and wider business areas;Support company secretarial in respect of corporate governance matters related to the above matters;Working with and managing external legal counsel as necessary; andWorking closely with senior stakeholders across the business to include compliance, risk, finance, wealth management, capital markets and operations to ensure that contractual terms are compliant with legal, regulatory and company policies and risk appetite.RequirementsQualified Solicitor with law degree or holds equivalent overseas professional legal qualification;At least 10+ years post qualification experience either with a top tier law firm or in-house;Wide experience in private practice and/or in-house in a range of disciplines is essential, with particular focus on corporate, financial regulation, employment, pensions, property and banking and finance;Strong knowledge and experience of the Irish regulatory framework and regulatory engagement as well as experience in the financial services industry is preferred;Highest standard of ethics and professional integrity;Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and having a proactive and confident approach advising C suite executives and board of an organization;Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks and to present this advice to non-legal leadership personnel concisely;Proven ability to successfully manage large scale projects and lead teams on complex matters; andExcellent multi-tasking, organizational and negotiation skills.What we offerWe offer a range of benefits and experiences to support your professional and personal growth, whatever your career stage.
