Markree Castle is recruiting for the position of Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Cleaning Assistant:
Main Purpose of the Job:
1. To ensure the smooth and efficient cleaning of the kitchen and all kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils, as well as certain back-of-house areas of the hotel premises, including all staff canteen and smoking areas.
2. To report on time and in the correct uniform, as outlined in the induction handbook.
3. To ensure that the kitchen is cleaned to an acceptable standard, including walls, flooring, presses, cookers, fridges, etc.
4. To ensure that all dirty dishes, glasses, cutlery, crockery, pots, and pans are cleaned.
5. To ensure that the floors are brushed and washed thoroughly whenever necessary and at the end of every shift, using the correct detergent as outlined in chemical training.
6. To ensure all health & safety policies and training are adhered to, with specific emphasis on slips/trips and the use of appropriate signage to warn passers-by of danger.
7. To ensure that all spills are wiped up immediately.
8. When required, to help clean and service the yard.
9. To ensure that all rubbish is disposed of correctly, including cardboard boxes, with respect to our recycling policies.
10. To dispose of any broken or chipped crockery and glasses into suitable lidded bins.
Minimum Requirements:
* Organised, with attention to detail.
* Communicable level of spoken English.
* Permission to work and reside in Ireland.
* Relevant experience is desirable; however, full training will be provided.
* Ability to self-motivate and work on own initiative.
