Laois Partnership Company are recruiting for a Rural Development Officer to join their team working within the new LEADER programme.
Laois Partnership Company is the local development company for Co. Laois. Based in Portlaoise, we run a number of state and EU funded programmes that aim to promote social inclusion, community and rural development and increase employment and enterprise.
This position will involve working within the new 2023-2027 LEADER programme. The LEADER Programme aims to support the local development of Ireland’s rural areas and the rural development officer will be tasked with actively engaging and directing this local development through community led approaches in Co Laois.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
1. Relevant Level 7 professional qualification e.g., rural development, community development or a related field.
2. At least one years’ paid experience in a rural development/related field.
3. Good understanding of rural development policy, tools and approaches.
4. Ability to support community and voluntary groups in needs analysis/project development.
5. Experience in stimulating, facilitating, and supporting local innovation.
6. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a complex workload.
7. Full clean driving license.
8. Professional references will be required for this position.
