HR Generalist
This job description sets out the scope of the HR Generalist role with the main duties of the position on the date when it was completed. Overview / Purpose of the Role
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the Senior HR Business Partner. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of core HR processes and employment Legislation, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We are seeking a HR Generalist for the Retail side of the business. This role will involve travel to our pharmacies nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of HR initiatives in areas such as On-boarding, Training, Employee Relations, Employee Welfare and Policy development.
Analyse existing processes and areas for improvement. Work closely with relevant stakeholders to understand their specific needs and challenges. Collaborate to address those needs effectively. Monitor the implementation of HR initiatives and gather feedback from employees and managers to assess effectiveness and adjust /improve as necessary.
Support Employee Relations-conduct investigations, minute taking at disciplinary hearings, and grievance hearings in line with Company policy. All administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate paperwork and records.
Support third-party cases with external legal and IBEC with file preparation.
Provide advice and support to line managers and employees on topics such as absence management, performance, employee life cycle, EAP, and other HR-related items.
Solid experience with exposure to handling ER cases at all levels preferential. Ensure compliance with Employment Law in environments with a mixture of employee demographics - wired and non-wired teammates, over multiple locations and shifts of 500+ teammates.
Assist in developing and implementing human resource policies, ensuring they are up to date with legislation.
Participate in developing HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports.
Deliver an HR service in line with business needs by assisting with running the day-to-day HR functions as required.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all business units in the organisation to continue driving the success of the HR Department within the organisation.
Contributing to a positive workplace culture by helping employees understand the rationale for policy decisions and using good judgment to communicate and promote consistency and fairness in their application.
Key Experience/Skills/Education
HR Degree
Proven experience as an HR Generalist.
Experience in Irish employment Law- handling grievances and disciplinaries is beneficial.
Experience in a unionised environment is an advantage.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Aptitude in problem-solving.
Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
Experience working across an HR-related role in retail/logistics or supply chain is essential.
Full driving licence required.
