Mechanical/Electrical Technician
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Technician to join our manufacturing team at a large global organization.
This is a permanent role based on site in County Galway, Ireland, and will suit someone with an Irish Trade qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete assigned Preventative Maintenance work, ensuring the plant runs efficiently and effectively.
* Lead the engineering team in achieving electrical/mechanical efficiency targets.
* Collaborate with the team to provide top-class service to the running of the plant.
* Carry out maintenance jobs for the shift, taking into consideration the overall engineering/maintenance strategy.
* Play a leading role in delivering electrical/mechanical efficiency targets for the site.
* Identify risks and opportunities related to breakdowns and implement solutions.
* Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and regulations.
* Focus on continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to training new members of the Engineering/Maintenance team.
* Work as part of project teams where required.
Requirements:
* A relevant Trade qualification and/or a relevant Engineering Degree.
* At least 2 years maintenance experience.
* Strong overall knowledge of Industrial machinery.
* Knowledgeable in carrying out PM tasks as outlined in the maintenance program.
* Hands-on experience of dealing with manufacturing equipment from a maintenance perspective.
* Good knowledge of the production process.
* Strong technical skills.
* Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
* Ability to proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Proficient communicator.
* Good overall PC skills.
Working Hours:
3-shift cycle – bonus rates per shift. Weeks 1-3: Monday to Friday, varying shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am).
