Renowned for their excellent company culture and employee benefits, they are recognized within the industry for their commitment to excellence and quality in every stage of the manufacturing process and are a global leader in the development of cardiovascular catheters, servicing customers across the world. The company has experienced widespread growth over the last 20 years in Galway and foresee this growth continuing in the coming years.
Your new role
You will join a tight-knit finance function, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and gaining exposure across every area of the business including manufacturing, sales, marketing, materials, and HR. This is an ideal first role in industry for someone coming directly from practice as you will be tasked with more 'nuts and bolts' elements of financial accounting such as month-end management accounts, bank reconciliations, some payroll duties, and accounts payable/accounts receivable. You will also get ample opportunity to progress and gain exposure to more cutting-edge commercial elements such as cost accounting, financial planning, and analysis. The role would also suit someone more experienced seeking a more varied role.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a fully qualified accountant with a recognized professional accreditation (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). While no manufacturing/industry-specific experience is essential, it may be advantageous, but the company is open to candidates of all backgrounds. You must demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. As a central part of the role is liaising with other non-finance departments, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is excellent attention to detail and a commercially focused mindset. The successful candidate will be ambitious and eager to progress with the flexibility to apply themselves to ad-hoc projects as part of the finance team.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a very competitive market salary which is flexible based on experience. In addition, you will gain access to a number of benefits including a very generous pension scheme (up to 15% matched), full healthcare, dental cover, and a hybrid working policy (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH). The company also offers one of the most flexible working pattern options in the region, with employees entitled to start between 7 am and 9:30 am in the morning, while also closing at 2 pm on a Friday afternoon to give you a few extra hours for your weekend. In addition to all this, the company has a history of promoting from within and also looks internally to progress successful employees. The company is renowned for its culture, evidenced by their excellent staff retention levels.
