Senior Cloud Support Engineer (BBBH3017) Dublin City Centre, Republic of Ireland
Overview of Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Support Engineer for our client based in Dublin city. The Senior Cloud Support Engineer takes on a range of responsibilities, including designing, planning, overseeing, maintaining, and providing support for cloud-based applications and infrastructure. This role involves working with multiple cloud providers, such as AWS and Azure, as well as other technical platforms like Microsoft Office 365 and Databricks. This role will be mainly remote with an occasional visit to a Data center if needed. This will be Monday to Friday role between 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. Some flexibility may be required on occasion outside core hours if needed.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Implementation and Deployment: Roll out and configure the designed cloud solution, including setting up cloud infrastructure and services.
* Design and Planning: Develop and plan cloud infrastructure and solutions, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements to design a solution that best fits.
* System Management and Maintenance: Take a holistic approach to managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and applications, ensuring smooth operation by monitoring system performance and resolving any issues.
* Security Management: Oversee the security of cloud infrastructure and applications, implementing robust security measures, monitoring threats, and responding to incidents.
* Backup and Recovery: Manage data backup and recovery processes in a comprehensive manner.
* Performance Optimisation: Enhance the efficiency and performance of cloud infrastructure and applications by optimising resource use and ensuring cloud services run at peak efficiency.
* Cost Management: Oversee cloud service costs, monitoring and controlling expenditure while optimising resource usage to reduce costs.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and software developers, to ensure cloud services are well-integrated and aligned with the organisation’s IT strategy.
* Compliance and Governance: Ensure that cloud infrastructure and applications adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
* The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years’ experience working in a similar role within cloud engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience with AWS and Azure is essential, along with relevant certifications from these cloud providers.
* A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in system management is required.
* Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell is a must.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
* Experience with HITRUST.
* Experience with GCP.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
* Experience working with Databricks.
* Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly with Terraform.
* Experience with Kubernetes and Containers-as-a-Service (CaaS).
* Background in AI/ML.
Qualifications:
* Third Level/Professional IT Qualification would be required.
* UK/EU citizenship or a Stamp 4 visa is an essential requirement.
