Implementation Program Director (EHR)-Dublin Ireland Location: Swift Square One Job type: Specified Purpose Overview of role: Reporting to the Chief Information Officer of UPMC International, and accountable to the EHR steering group chair, the EHR Implementation Program Director provides the interface between program ownership and delivery and acts as a focal point between the business and our implementation partners.
As a director level role, he/she must be able to network effectively, negotiate well and influence people for the betterment of the project.
He/she must also be able to apply risk assessment, management principles and processes.
He/she will lead the development and communication of the vision, strategy, and objectives for the EHR program, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
They will serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership and stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on program status and progress.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
General Accountabilities Has operational responsibility for delivering the MEDITECH implementation within UPMC Ireland.
Implements program and project governance, including identification of project sponsors, and establishment of project team roles and responsibilities.
Collaborate with the Information Technology and Clinical Informatics (IT/CI) teams Responsible for the program plan, milestones, tracking and reporting project status and ensuring key milestones are met.
Lead the decision-making process of resolution of issues impacting milestone achievements Specific Accountabilities Project Planning and Execution Develop project plans (including budgets, schedules, scope, and desired outcomes) for approval by the Operations Committee and/or Steering Committee.
Projects will include many of the following components, this list is not exhaustive: Standardization of clinical and operational processes enabled and supported by the new EHR.
Change management and adoption by clinical and operational users.
Application build and configuration Development and execution of application test plans Development and execution of communication plans Software deployment including post go-live support and optimization Oversee execution of the approved project plan in partnership with clinical, administrative, professional practice and IT/CI stakeholders.
Oversee the UPMC Ireland MEDITECH Expanse Program consisting of: Deployment of all MEDITECH Expanse modules to all applicable UPMC sites including four hospitals and two joint-ventures Manage, report, and escalate issues as appropriate to the Operations Committee, Steering Committee, and vendors Develop lessons learned at the end of each project.
Oversee the Infrastructure Program consisting of: The development and implementation of the data centre infrastructure and integration of systems.
The development and execution of an organization-wide disaster recovery and organizational continuity plan.
Portfolio Management Manage competing resource requirements across multiple projects Align projects and resources through scheduling, hiring, or contracting work as appropriate.
Provide the Operating and Steering Committees with status reports on per project and rolled up (program) basis.
Operational Management Liaise with MEDITECH and other vendors to oversee installation, and resolve adoption issues, and manage on-going configuration and changes, contract performance and compliance.
Maintain and report a list of outstanding issues Establish new-user training requirements including the schedule of training periods across sites Report on project variances to the Operating Committee Establish project management centre of excellence and lead the continued development of standardized project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
Develop and implement post-implementation support model to ensure continued delivery of EHR system, including maintenance, upgrades, and end-user support.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications Candidates should have an undergraduate degree with healthcare experience.
Candidates should have a project management designation (PMP, Prince2, graduate certificate in project management or equivalent experience).
Candidates should have 3 or more years' experience managing portfolios of projects and 10 or more years' experience as a project manager.
