Position Overview: Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Content Operations, the Localization Specialist will be responsible for contributing to the technical aspects of localization efforts of marketing materials (including the corporate website and other marketing copy), along with SAT Content for both PhishMe and the LMS with a focus on Japanese language content. This position will perform pre- and post-processing of files through Cofense’s extensive Translation Memory and conduct technical QA of online learning and web/multimedia files. This position will work collaboratively across different Content and Marketing teams to meet established roadmap goals. Marketing tasks will take priority but are not expected to consume all 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
1. Coordinates all phases of assigned translation projects including pre-processing and post-processing of files, file tracking, and management.
2. Prepares files for translation, reassembles projects post-translation into their native formats, and provides QA support to other localized projects, including corporate website, marketing copy, online learning, and multimedia space.
3. Tracks all work according to general and project-specific instructions.
4. Maintenance and improvement of the Translation Memory, including development of QA scripts, glossaries, and DNT lists. Note that this is not a specific-language translation role, but a localization generalist.
5. Experience using Trados Studio as a translator is helpful.
6. May collaborate on the design, implementation, and documentation of new localization processes and tools as these are developed for more media content.
7. Consult with Cofense Marketing on regionalized communications in multiple formats including web and documents.
8. Consult with the Cofense Content team to produce Japanese regional Security Awareness (SAT) content.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1. Fluency in non-English language required, preferably Japanese.
2. Excellent spoken and written English and Japanese, other foreign language skills.
3. Advanced knowledge of RWS Trados Studio (file preparation, TM management, SDK scripting); comprehensive knowledge of localization tools and Translation Management Systems.
4. A minimum of 2-3 years solid in-depth experience in the internationalization and localization (either vendor- or client-side) as a localization specialist or translator. This is not an applied translation role, however having worked as a translator is very beneficial.
5. Hands-on experience with RWS Trados Studio (non-negotiable).
6. Experience with Adobe Captivate and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
7. Basic knowledge of HTML and XML.
8. Basic knowledge of locales, encodings, code pages, fonts, scripts, input methods, and character sets as they relate to localization.
9. Understanding of subtitling and voiceover, basic understanding of text-to-speech applications such as Amazon Polly, Vyond, and/or Murf.
10. Knowledge of the localization industry and its technical aspects.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (localization, linguistics, or with equivalent experience).
