General Manager Heating & Plumbing

As General Manager, you will have full autonomy over stock decisions, purchasing, staffing, and logistics. You will manage trading hours and collaborate closely with the managing director on operational matters.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operational and administrative issues within the company, including opening and closing the store, staff rostering, and security.
* Manage and be responsible for achieving and exceeding assigned business targets, sales budgets, KPIs, and discount, cost control, demonstrating ambition and profit focus. Liaise with the managing Director daily.
* Lead your team's development and performance as a people manager.
* Manage merchandising and stock levels within the store, being accountable for stock loss and stock takes.
* Analyse and interpret trends by keeping an eye on the market, visiting local competitors' stores, and monitoring media channels to improve overall store performance.
* Ensure exceptional customer service from the team, fully understanding customer needs and requirements.
* Maintain a store presentation that meets high standards for customers and employees alike, walking the floor regularly to hear their opinions.
* Be responsible for health and safety within the store, including security issues and breaches.
* Lead by a positive example, setting the standard for your team and customers.
* Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Manager or high-level Assistant Manager.
* Excellent customer service relationship building skills, with a passion for providing exceptional customer and service delivery.
* Strong communication, leadership, and training skills.
* A strong and motivated leader who can lead by example with a result-focused approach.
* Highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and able to work to tight deadlines.
* Business-minded, change-oriented, and proactive.
* Able to work well within a team, flexible, and willing to learn and share.
