Job Description: SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: To manage and oversee the smooth and efficient operation of all areas relating to the accounts department including the accounts payable ledger, disbursement of commission payments, bank reconciliations, maintenance of current lodgment procedures, budgeting, payroll, and reporting.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: To ensure the accounts payable and receivable function of the accounts department run in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
To oversee and manage the accounts team ensuring their performance is monitored and they receive the training and guidance necessary to carry out their roles effectively.
To liaise with the Purchasing Manager, ensuring that all stock counts are carried out effectively and management are trained in relation to same.
To oversee the fortnightly and monthly payroll, ensuring it is completed accurately and timely.
To provide all employees with payslips and all other documentation where necessary.
To prepare a detailed analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, and to produce and present the yearly budgets and forecasts.
Preparation of VAT and PRSI/PAYE returns.
To compile and provide an accurate bank reconciliation, trial balance, profit & loss account, and balance sheet within the timeframe set down by management.
To liaise with external auditors to ensure all accounting records are accurate and up to date.
To provide the Directors with daily and weekly revenue reports; weekly debtors & creditors report; forecasted versus actual wage report; credit card tips report.
To oversee the movement of all cash within both properties, monitoring cash and credit card transactions on a sporadic basis and spot checking to ensure procedures are followed.
To attend Hotel and Group Meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
Ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures.
Ensure reporting that incorporates benchmarking, identification, and measurement of key performance indicators.
To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing, and Employment.

Requirements: We are looking for an ambitious, confident, and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical, and people management skills.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality industry or food and beverage environment.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with strong internal control awareness.
Demonstrate Initiative.
Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have a professional accounting designation and 2+ years progressively responsible experience culminating in a senior financial position in a related sector.
Experience in liaising with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills will be key.
