Job Title: Automation Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at a prominent engineering contractor specializing in wastewater and water treatment.
Responsibilities:
* Develop automation and control systems design, specification, programming, simulation, and testing, as well as provide start-up assistance.
* Create IO lists, hardware specifications, and PLC HMI programs based on FDS or control philosophies.
* Set up modem links, radio links, web-based remote SCADA access, control server setup, and maintenance.
* Commission PLC systems on-site with electrical commissioning engineers.
* Implement code changes on automation systems under change control as required.
* Provide technical advice and support to process engineers and other disciplines on automation-related issues.
* Operate according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed for site engineering and maintenance.
* Partner with various disciplines to deliver automation projects in accordance with guidelines.
* Generate documentation and SOPs associated with each automation system as needed.
* Support the tendering department in specifying hardware, programming time, etc., for automation projects.
* Manage the specification, development, installation, and validation of automation projects within corporate guidelines.
Requirements:
* Engineering degree in electrical, electronics, or instrumentation.
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in industry, preferably in water, wastewater, or related industries.
* Proficiency in Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley PLCs, as well as HMI programming software (especially TIA Portal and RSlogix5000).
* Familiarity with Siemens WINCC, AVEVA Intouch, Ignition SCADA packages, SQL servers, and OPC servers.
