We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will interact directly with customers, leveraging your technical expertise and excellent communication skills to deliver outstanding service. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently completing assigned tasks, adhering to company procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Use company-provided PDA software to receive and manage tasks effectively.
* Promptly inform your line manager and scheduling department of any delays or issues in reaching allocated jobs, ensuring customers are updated accordingly.
* Communicate estimated time of arrival (ETA) to customers and provide updates in case of delays.
* Conduct visual risk assessments for each job and report any concerns to your line manager.
* Provide detailed feedback on parts used for tasks and ensure parts are prepaid when dealing directly with end-users.
* Deliver excellent customer service, including discussing service plans and upgrade options onsite.
* Perform monthly stock takes for van stock or items stored in lockups.
* Engage in on-the-job training as directed and participate in personal development courses.
* Keep customers informed about project updates and coordinate with the office for unforeseen additional costs.
* Utilize the company-provided SATNAV system to plan efficient routes between jobs.
* Ensure all company property, including vehicles, is maintained as per company policy.
* Fulfill any additional tasks assigned by your line manager as needed.
Minimum Requirements
* At least 1 year of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, or proof of electrical competency.
* Physically fit for the job (a medical assessment may be required).
* Clean driving license and willingness to undergo a driving license check.
* Relevant experience in a similar role or environment.
* Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office and PDA/service-based reporting systems.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot in challenging environments.
* Experience in the wastewater or water industry.
* Knowledge of sewage treatment and pump station systems.
* Familiarity with Kingspan and other wastewater product manufacturers.
What We Offer
* Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (42 hours/week).
* Overtime:
o Monday to Friday: Time and a third for hours worked before 8:00 AM or after 5:30 PM.
o Saturday (Optional): Time and a half.
* 24 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
* Pension contribution: 5% company match.
* Tools of the Trade: Company van and tablet provided.
