The Role
Due to an exciting expansion at the Cork site, your role will be to report to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for leading and implementing high EHS standards and influencing a proactive EHS operating culture.
Duties:
* Compliance and Guidance: Interpreting all regulatory changes and providing guidance and direction to Cork site operations to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, IE Licensing, and ISO45001/ISO14001 Standard.
* EHS Support: Providing EHS support to a dedicated site operation to ensure compliance with Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements.
* EHS Assessment: Performing EHS assessment/approval of all process and equipment changes for the operation.
* Relationship Building: Maintaining relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement EHS strategies.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Working closely with Regulatory Authorities, external and internal key stakeholders, and the local management team.
* Continuous Improvement: Seeking out opportunities to continuously improve a proactive EHS operating culture.
* Audits and Inspections: Leading audits and inspections, compiling EHS metrics and KPIs data, trending for Corporate EHS and site management.
* EHS Systems Maintenance: Maintaining EHS systems (including Chemical Management System, Accident/Incident reporting system, Occupational monitoring, etc.) and leading/participating in Root Cause Investigations as required.
* Risk Assessment: Completion of Risk Assessments in conjunction with area experts as required.
Who You Are
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Credentials: Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, minimum 3 years post-qualification experience required.
* Regulated Environment Experience: Extensive experience within a regulated manufacturing environment; Life Science or Pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
* Leadership Skills: Leadership & organizational skills with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues to achieve high performance.
* PASSION FOR EHS: Highly motivated with a passion for EHS to continuously improve EHS performance by implementing new and innovative ideas.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Technical Skills: Competent user of Microsoft packages.
