The University College Dublin School of Biosystems and Food Engineering seeks an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering for the Circular Bio-Economy. The successful candidate will develop a programme of world-class research and contribute to inspirational teaching, advancing biological engineering solutions for the circular bio-economy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish new and collaborative research programmes aligned with the school's research and innovation ambition.
* Advance emerging concepts in bioengineering for the circular bio-economy through deployment of solutions in multi-sensor data fusion, biosensor optimisation, and streamlined data collection and handling approaches.
* Engage with societal, policy, and industry stakeholders to drive implementation, uptake, and impact through innovation focus.
* Lead the development and delivery of the UCD BSc Circular Bio-Economy and enhance the School's education streams across undergraduate programmes.
Requirements:
* Honours primary degree and a Ph.D. in the circular bio-economy or cognate discipline.
* Demonstrated expertise in bioresource characterisation, separation, and utilisation, with a strong focus on in situ resource characterisation.
* Experience in engaging with diverse student cohorts and integrating research into teaching for all levels.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary scale: €62,855 - €99,533 per annum. Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
