Our client based in County Tipperary, a leading figure in specialist building and construction solutions, is seeking a Project Manager to join their team to oversee the planning and successful delivery of contracts.
This Project Manager will be required to continue and create good working relationships between the company and clients, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Must be calm under pressure, organised, and methodical with a consistent approach to workload.
Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Chair regular meetings with all members of the project teams internally and externally to ensure progress of projects is in line with the planned programme.
2. Provide upstream clear, concise, and accurate timeous reporting on progress of projects and advise on any variance and reasons for variance.
3. In conjunction with the Head of Contracts, QS's ensure all financial information is relevant, accurate, and on time.
4. Attend sub-contractor and client meetings as required, ensuring a positive working relationship is established and maintained, always acting as an ambassador for the Company.
5. Ensure detailed on and off-site programmes are produced and adhered to on all assigned projects and to regularly report progress against these. (Design, Production, Erecting).
6. Pre-plan the material, manning, and equipment levels required to achieve site programme and support site manager where necessary.
7. When applicable, provide technical support at tender stage.
8. Take responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects, advising on all aspects of construction work, including conducting the works, methods of construction, build and design and identification and resolution of potential issues etc.
9. Where applicable, take the lead in design management and review on design and build projects.
10. Assist the Site Managers with managing sub-contractors on assigned projects, including their recruitment, performance management, training, and development.
11. Oversee the allocation of trades and labour, employed and sub-contracted – ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of resources on assigned projects.
12. Follow up/manage unacceptable sub-contract/supplier performance and keep the project team informed of poor performance.
13. Support and ensure that objectives are planned and implemented onsite, attending audit meetings.
14. Adhere to the Integrated Management System (IMS).
15. Liaise with Quality department to expeditiously disposition rejected materials.
What are we looking for?
1. Bachelor Degree.
2. Experience in a similar role and industry.
3. Experience in similar roles within the construction industry.
4. Full clean driving licence for Ireland.
5. Use of Microsoft packages including Word and Teams.
6. Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings.
7. Must have a basic understanding of construction contractual terms.
8. Ability to recognize a problem and assume primary responsibility for the solution by taking the initiative to solve the problem with strong communication skills.
9. Have great client and project management skills and communication.
10. Provide others with clear direction, delegate work appropriately and fairly. Motivate and empower others, encourage organisational and individual responsibility towards the community and environment.
11. Keep up to date with competitor information and market trends. Identify business opportunities for the organisation. Demonstrate financial awareness. Control costs and think in terms of profit, loss, and added value.
