Verry Trust:
Established in 1983 by Fr.
Peter McVerry, the charity supports individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Dublin, Kildare, Laois, and Limerick.
Peter McVerry Trust provides a wide range of services, including homelessness prevention, housing, homeless services, under-18s residential care, and drug treatment.

Peter McVerry Trust Under 18s
Residential Services:
PMVT Under 18s services provide individualised, holistic, and strengths-based care for young people aged 12-17 years referred by Tusla.
Placements follow the Well Tree Model of Care, a trauma and attachment-informed approach that supports personalised planning and intervention.
The services help young people build confidence, coping strategies, and self-esteem, preparing them for independent living and appropriate accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
To the Manager/Team Leader/
Social Care Leader:
Work within the delegated authority of the Manager/Team Leader/Social Care Leader.
Meet regularly with the Manager/Team Leader/Social Care Leader to discuss progress.
Assist in the day-to-day running of the project.
To Provide Direct Support to Residents: Offer intervention, support, and supervision.
Provide advocacy and refer residents to community services when needed.
Supervise resident behavior at all times.
Liaise with relevant staff to secure move-on accommodation.
Plan recreational and group activities.
To Assist with
Residents Case Work:
Communicate with relevant Peter McVerry Trust staff.
Key-work with residents (where required).
Support residents in developing Individual Personal Plans.
Ensure residents are informed of their entitlements.
To Maintain a Safe and
Healthy Living Environment:
Adhere to safety and security protocols.
Ensure the environment is well-maintained.
Assign routine and domestic tasks to residents.
Monitor stock and purchase household necessities.
Support residents in preparing meals to develop independent living skills.
Provide advice and help with housekeeping needs.
Mediate disputes and encourage cooperation.
To Respond to Requests for Service: Link with other PMVT services for screening and assessment.
Communicate information and refer residents to appropriate resources.
Offer ongoing support to former residents.
To Undertake Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
Actively participate in staff meetings.
Provide written reports to the Manager/Team Leader/Social Care Leader when necessary.
Record incidents or accidents as required.
Flexibility in Work Programme:
Workload may be re-prioritised as needed to support other areas of the organisation, with due notice and consultation.
Positive and Enthusiastic Attitude:
Maintain professionalism in interactions with management, staff, and residents.
Represent Peter McVerry Trust positively in external agency interactions.
Other Duties:
Undertake any additional agreed duties to ensure service provision.
Person Specification:
Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Social Care, Youth and Community Work, Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, or Nursing.
