Weltec Engineering is a leading provider of Mechanical & Electrical contracting services in Ireland. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical systems on projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to develop cost-effective and competitive proposals. This role requires excellent knowledge of electrical systems, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to project budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and other electrical services, based on project drawings, specifications, and site visits.
* Analyze electrical design documents, scope of work, and client requirements to provide accurate cost assessments.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align estimates with project budgets and timelines.
* Review tender documents and specifications to ensure complete understanding of project scope and requirements.
* Identify cost-effective solutions and recommend alternatives when necessary.
* Track project progress and adjust estimates as needed throughout the life of the project.
* Maintain an up-to-date database of material prices, labor rates, and subcontractor costs.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards in all cost estimations.
* Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to management, clients, and stakeholders.
* Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to electrical systems and estimating practices.
Requirements:
* A degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or electrical contracting industry.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage installations.
* Proficiency in estimating software.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Strong mathematical and analytical skills to assess costs accurately.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, contractors, and vendors.
* Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to electrical systems.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
