Main Purpose and Objectives of Position:
The Associate Director- Engineering & Project Engineering has overall responsibility to design and manage an effective local capital delivery strategy and associated business processes for site capital projects. Responsibilities include development of the integrated prioritised capital plan, management of project delivery teams and C&Q resources.
The role also has responsibilities to support the design and management of an effective, sustainable, and compliant engineering content management systems for the site.
The person is responsible for developing in association with the various site, corporate network functions and global facility delivery stakeholders:
1. Efficient, compliant, and sustainable local capital project delivery strategy and business processes.
2. Develop and manage a site prioritised local capital project list.
3. Support, design, build and manage an organisation capable of delivering site project needs to meet site business needs.
4. Work with local and corporate stakeholders to design, implement and maintain an efficient, compliant, and sustainable Engineering Content Management System.
5. Ensure seamless integration and transfer of engineering content from Global Facility Delivery team to site team and systems.
6. Leverage digital solutions and innovative solutions to support Engineering Content Management solutions.
7. Support site and corporate level initiatives to drive efficiency in capital delivery business processes and engineering content management.
8. Work with and support other Engineering functions (Maintenance, Utilities and Automation) as needed with engineering system & content integration (GMARS, GECMS, Delta V, other).
The leader is a member of site management team with shared responsibility for the site meeting its targets.
Personal Considerations:
At times, the Associate Director- Engineering & Project Engineering may need to travel offsite to other Lilly locations, other pharmaceutical companies, conferences, or off-site training.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
1. Third Level Qualification in Engineering.
2. Leading Engineering Teams and managing capital budgets.
3. Six Sigma/Lean qualifications and experience in digital systems supporting engineering content management also an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the execution of local capital projects required to deliver capacity/capability and business continuity.
2. Support, design, build and manage an organisation capable of delivering site project needs to meet site business needs.
3. Ensure safe execution of local capital project delivery.
4. Develop effective capital management performance KPI’s managing Safety, Quality, Budget, and Schedule.
5. Promote and instill best practices for site capital project delivery program.
6. Ensure adherence to Engineering and Procurement standards, technical and commercial with supplier and third-party relationships.
7. Adopt innovative and efficient systems to support the capital delivery program.
8. Support the sites digital vision and adoption of innovative new technologies to support Limericks next generation biologics site.
9. Change management advocate.
10. Leverage digital solutions and best in class processes to support effective Engineering Content Management.
People Management:
1. Be a role model for team members in terms of performance and behaviors.
2. Bring information to/from the team about relevant issues; helping to translate this for team members.
3. Help people improve their performance and close performance gaps with appropriate training, professional development, and coaching interventions.
4. Manage the professional development of Engineering Team.
Site Management Role:
1. Participate in site-wide management groups dealing with implementation of company policies and other people issues.
2. Monitor and initiate opportunities to improve policy, and advise on how best to implement changes to policies or work practices.
3. Take ownership for and support management decisions.
4. Participate appropriately in site planning processes representing the interests of the team.
5. Manage collaborations, both formal and informal, between the team and other functional support groups.
