Job Purpose: The Finance Manager will oversee the financial function of the organisation, ensuring seamless integration with accounting systems and improving financial processes for more efficient data management. This role requires a proactive individual who can provide financial insights to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts to support business planning. Inform key strategic decisions with financial insights. Develop and manage financial systems and policies, identifying opportunities for improvement. Control and forecast income and expenditure, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints. Recommend cost reduction strategies and efficiency improvements. Effectively communicate financial data to non-financial managers. Collaborate with internal departments on funding and support programmes. Manage and coordinate the rollout of an electronic purchase order system. Supervise and support direct reports within the finance team. General Duties: Maintain a high standard of professionalism and adherence to service commitments. Respond efficiently and professionally to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Ensure consistent attendance, punctuality, and compliance with health and safety procedures. Provide regular updates on job tasks, projects, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance role effectiveness. Work closely with senior leadership to align financial operations with strategic objectives. Maintain secure and systematic financial records. Support cross-functional activities and assist in other departments as required. Skills & Competencies: Strong numerical and analytical abilities. Exceptional attention to detail. Experience working with Sage 50 Accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in rolling out financial platforms is advantageous. Proven experience in financial processing and reporting. Background in financial management within a similar organisation, particularly in the public sector, is desirable. Previous experience in managing a team.
