Job Title: Quantity Surveyor/Estimator
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team, following the award of several new contracts in Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will be based in either our Belfast or Cookstown office and will work with us to provide construction, property redevelopment, and refurbishment services across various sectors.
Main Responsibilities:
* Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and specialist requirements.
* Prepare enquiry documents, source, and obtain material and subcontractor quotations, including final negotiations and orders.
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on a regular basis to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
* Complete monthly sub-contractor valuations through to final account and complete monthly valuations to PQS, recording all additional works items.
* Liaise with clients to agree rates/variations and cost analysis.
* Measure works as per contract-specific schedule of rates.
* Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales.
* Work closely with Management and Accounts to ensure accurate and vigorous cost management of the project to deliver a profitable outcome.
* Provide accurate and robust monthly reports for Management and Client Progress Meetings.
* Attend and participate in Site Progress Meetings.
Candidate Requirements:
* Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or related disciplines (Applicants with HND/HNC or strong construction-related experience will also be considered).
* At least 2 years' experience in Estimating/Quantity Surveying role within a Main Contracting organisation.
* Excellent commercial acumen, communication skills, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative while working in a team environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
