A large Irish Semi-State organisation with responsibility for Financial services is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to join their IT Operations team. The Infrastructure Architect will work on multiple projects to enhance or replace technologies, collaborating with various project teams to deliver designs and assist with the planning and execution of technology uplifts.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with internal project managers, stakeholders, and line managers to shape infrastructure solutions.
* Lead or coordinate with 3rd parties to deliver technology designs and develop supporting technical design documentation in line with the scope of the project and agreed architectural strategies.
* Build and maintain relationships with Technology team members, project stakeholders, key 3rd party suppliers, and other relevant Information Management and Technology Directorate (IMTD) personnel.
* Establish strong relationships with vendor(s) to ensure they deliver high performance in line with project, design, and contractual commitments.
* Evaluate and ensure that all technical solutions and services are delivered in a quality and timely manner, aligning any changes/releases of solutions and designs with the Organisational Change Management process.
* Perform due diligence on security, service delivery, and technological quality assurance to guarantee business solutions bring real value to the organisation.
* Work with Project Managers to develop key task input for project plans.
* Identify and implement opportunities for Service Enhancements and automation during projects.
Requirements
* A Third Level Degree/Diploma or Postgraduate Qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
* Architectural certification such as TOGAF or Cobit would be advantageous, though relevant industry experience may suffice.
* No less than 10 years of enterprise IT experience, with at least 5 years spent as an architect or in an architecture-based role.
* Experience working with and managing IT Managed Services providers and vendors to ensure delivery of solutions/services.
* A strong track record in designing and building underlying/core infrastructure solutions at an enterprise level.
* A broad understanding of infrastructure-related technologies such as servers, load balancers, firewalls, storage configurations, networks, and datacentres.
* Experience with Microsoft Applications and the underlying infrastructure designs required, e.g., SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange.
* Previous experience working in a banking or financial services environment, preferably in a large-scale public sector organisation in Ireland, the UK, or wider EU.
* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
