Assistant Manager
This Assistant Manager position is suited for a customer-focused individual with relevant retail experience and a passion for retail in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Organising workflow to ensure staff understand their duties and delegate tasks effectively.
* FOLLOW ALL COMPANY PROCEDURES ON PLANNING & ORGANISATION, INCLUDING BREAK SCHEDULES, SHOP FLOOR ALLOCATION, TASK LISTS, HANDOVERS ETC.
* Maintain store standards that meet and exceed company expectations, ensuring the store remains health and safety compliant at all times.
* Communicate with Head Office, confirming and implementing all requests from Head Office.
* Effective time management, completing daily tasks and seasonal turnarounds within agreed timelines to promote sales.
* Ability to plan, delegate, and accomplish all tasks on time.
* Cash Management: Responsible for all aspects of cash management, adhering to the company's cash management policy.
* Maintain accurate timekeeping and personnel records, as well as weekly wages using the TMS system.
* Implement and follow all Company Policies and Procedures.
* Staff Management and Performance: Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
* Drive sales through strong senior leadership, making commercial decisions, prioritizing tasks, taking initiative, and leading the team with minimal direction.
* Develop Supervisors: Coach and support the team to perform at the required level.
Key Skills and Competencies
* Prioritizing: Demonstrate an understanding of what needs to be done first and why prioritizing is essential.
* Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Oversee in-store promotional/seasonal displays, effectively merchandising products and replenishing stock to drive sales.
* Excellent product knowledge, including all seasonal products.
* Good working knowledge of RS Accounts and back-office functions.
* Ability to lead a team and create a positive work environment.
