About the Schoolhouse
We are a family run boutique 4* Hotel and Gastro Bar based in the leafy suburbs of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Located just moments from all the city’s top attractions and main shopping areas. As a listed building, the Schoolhouse was established in 1859 and has many of the original architectural features within the 31 recently renovated guest bedrooms.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller (based in Galway) ,the Accounts Assistant will support both the General Manager and the Hotel Management team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including the Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet.
* Ensure accurate recording of all sales, establish a robust system for identifying issues, prepare daily sales KPI reports for distribution to individual departments, and log sales on various hotel information systems.
* Oversee the cash and banking functions of the hotel by maintaining the daily income audit, monitoring cash handling procedures throughout the property, providing training as needed, managing petty cash, and ensuring appropriate cash levels are maintained in the hotel.
* Accounts Receivable: Ensure effective recording, invoicing, and follow-up on payments, while periodically tracking and monitoring the property’s debtors.
* Accounts Payable: Maintain the hotel’s purchasing system, reconcile creditor statements, and address supplier inquiries.
* Protect the hotel’s assets with a strong emphasis on maintaining effective internal control systems.
Requirements:
* We are looking for a friendly, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
* The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality, food & beverage environment or within the retail sector. Experience of Timepoint, a Hotel PMS, such as HOTSOFT or Opera would be a distinct advantage.
* The ideal candidate will be at least a part qualified accountant. Excellent administrative skills and open to training the team to improve key processes.
