Physiotherapist, Staff GradeWTE 0.5 (Grade Code 314X) New development Consultant led Neuro-rehabilitation service (as part of the Neuro-rehabilitation Strategy and Managed Clinical Rehabilitation Network (MCRN), in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook (RHD).
The RHD provides Sub-Acute, Stroke, Respite, Continuing Care, Neurological and General Rehabilitation services to adults, along with a busy Day Hospital under the direction of both rehabilitation and geriatric consultants.
The RHD is an independent, voluntary, charitable organization.
This RHD Neuro-rehabilitation service is upgrading and expanding to 18 inpatient rehabilitation beds with the exciting development of 10 new RHD positions (8.2 WTE), as part of the MCRN and the overall implementation of the Neuro-rehabilitation Strategy.
Reporting Relationship The post holder will report to and receive direct clinical supervision from the Physiotherapy Manager, in Royal Hospital Donnybrook.
Purpose of the post:
The Physiotherapist will:
Carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post using efficient time management and prioritization in accordance with departmental policies.
Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.
Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with the client, family and other team members as appropriate. Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members. Develop effective communication with and provide instruction, guidance and support to service users, family, carers etc.
To demonstrate effective team working in a client centred framework to ensure an optimum service is provided for all patients.
Document client records in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies.
Provide a service in varied locations in line with local policy / guidelines and within appropriate time allocation (e.g., clinic, home visits).
Participate in review meetings, case conferences, multi-disciplinary team meetings, ward rounds etc. as appropriate.
The successful candidate will:
provide clinical knowledge in Rehabilitation work in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Senior, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and interdisciplinary teams, in planning, developing, coordinating overall operation and development of a quality, client centred Physiotherapy service within The Royal Hospital Donnybrook, as directed by the Physiotherapy Manager In addition to clinical responsibilities, he/she will be expected to contribute to continuous quality improvement and quality assurance around patient care.
work as part of an interdisciplinary team supporting patients with varying rehabilitation presentations and needs be responsible for the provision and delivery of a high-quality, evidence based, patient focused Physiotherapy service in the designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical, educational and administrative duties as required Committed to education, supervision, service development and training to ensure they have the required skills and knowledge to deliver evidence based, safe and effective practice.
Eligibility Criteria Health A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Statutory Registration, Qualifications and Experience Candidates for appointment must:
Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
And Be registered as a Physiotherapist by the Physiotherapy Registration Board at CORU Or Satisfy the conditions set out in the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (amended 2019), and must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapy Board at CORU.
Acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapy Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration.
Or Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.
And Professional Development and Practice, Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of Rehabilitation, in the form of post-graduate qualifications or relevant courses.
Annual registration Practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapy Register maintained by the Physiotherapy Registration Board at CORU. And Confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). Informal enquiries are welcome.
