We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Kerry site in Listowel.
This is a full-time seasonal role. Hours of work are Monday – Friday 8am – 430pm with one weekend on one weekend off. In addition 12 hour day and night shift cover may also be required from time to time by prior arrangement.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for the analysis of raw materials, in process and finished product samples, conduct testing ranging from physical, chemical, microbiological, functional, sensory etc.
Listowel is home to one of our Dairy sites in the South West of Ireland in Co Kerry. Our Consumer Foods and Taste & Nutrition plants are located on the site and form an integral part of the overall Dairy business for the Group.
Our Taste & Nutrition business focuses on technology based ingredients, flavours and integrated solutions in food and beverage growth markets supplying globally.
Our Consumer Foods business uses operational and marketing expertise along with consumer understanding to continually invest in added value meat, dairy, convenience and food-to-go categories.

What will I be doing?
Responsible for the analysis of raw materials, in process and finished product samples.
The successful candidate will conduct testing ranging from physical, chemical, microbiological, functional, sensory etc.
Proficiency testing within scope of lab accreditations.
Accountable for recording the date generated in SAP and other system.
Abiding to the Kerry Policy – Safety First, Quality Aways
Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
What do I need to be successful?
Previous food / dairy laboratory testing experience
Knowledge of the Quality Management Systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of the product specifications, plant processes and products.
An excellent understanding of Good Laboratory Practice.
Previous manufacturing experience is desirable, but not essential.
A third level qualification in a science related discipline or lab experience
Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
Knowledge in LIMS, SAP system would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be organised, systematic and should possess the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to respond to changing demands.
