Your new company Hays is working alongside a family-run civil engineering contractor based in County Tyrone, in their recruitment of a Senior SHEQ Advisor to join their long-standing team.
With continued growth and an operational history of over 40 years, this company has expanded operations throughout the UK & Ireland across all sectors including infrastructure and utilities, renewable energy, roads, construction, and general civil engineering.
Your Role
* You will join the team as Senior SHEQ Advisor, responsible for the management of health, safety, environmental, and quality across all utilities and construction operations.
Your role will see you split between head office in County Tyrone and sites across Northern Ireland on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the management of CDM responsibilities.
* Ensuring all documentation and activities are compliant with local, national, and EU HSEQ legislation and standards, as well as company policies.
* Creating and maintaining relevant Health and Safety Documentation, such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH Assessments, Toolbox talks, and Training Records.
* Completing accident and incident reporting where applicable, investigating any incidents, and identifying and implementing corrective actions.
* Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure all safety standards and procedures are being upheld and met.
* Supporting the preparation of tender documentation to ensure SHEQ compliance submissions.
* Managing and maintaining current ISO management system certifications, including compliance, auditing, and continuous improvement, specifically directed at ISO 45001.
* Helping to encourage a culture of safety within the organisation through communication, continuous training, and employee engagement.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a SHEQ role within the construction/civil engineering sectors.
* Sound knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 management systems.
* A NEBOSH or relevant Health & Safety qualification is essential.
* A full driving licence, alongside a valid CSR/CSCS or SMSTS card, is required to fulfil the duties of the role.
