Senior Dietitian
My client, a Children’s Disabilities unit in Carlow, is seeking a Senior Dietitian. This role involves providing specialized nutrition and dietetic care to children with complex needs associated with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Dietitian
1. Assess and manage the nutritional needs of children within the CDNT.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Nurses.
4. Provide clinical supervision to staff-grade Dietitians.
5. Participate in relevant meetings and case conferences.
6. Maintain professional knowledge and competence through continuous professional development.
7. Offer nutrition education to healthcare professionals and families.
8. Contribute to the development and evaluation of nutrition education materials.
9. Comply with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and safe professional practices.
10. Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
11. Report adverse incidents or near misses.
12. Contribute to policy development, performance monitoring, and business planning.
13. Maintain appropriate records in accordance with organizational and professional requirements.
14. Prepare progress reports and statistics as required.
Key Requirements of Senior Dietitian
1. Statutory registration as a Dietitian with the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
2. A minimum of three years of post-qualification dietetic experience.
3. In-depth clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
