Account Consultant - Rullion | EDF Renewables UK & Ireland Renewable Energy Recruitment Consultant - Renewable Energy, Wind, Solar PV
Location: REMOTE with occasional office visits in Dublin (approx. 1x a week or less)
Contract Length: Until January 2026
Day rate: 400-650 EUR/day DOE
Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days
Role Overview
Work as part of and support a cross-disciplinary team working in all stages of development and preliminary design of renewable energy projects. Requirement to provide the requisite leadership to respond to day-to-day challenges and to develop well-considered planning strategies for large scale complex renewable energy projects (i.e. wind/solar/battery storage).
This role has a challenging workload across a number of projects involving different renewable technologies.
Another challenge of this role is to maintain knowledge of policy changes in an exciting and maturing industry sector. It is critical that the role builds close relationships with industry bodies to keep on top of current and upcoming changes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and oversight of the planning application process to ensure the highest quality planning applications and associated documentation including planning statements, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, and Natura Impact Statements;
2. Provide ad-hoc advice and expertise to members of the development and senior management team on the evolution of planning and policy matters;
3. Undertake due diligence of relevant planning aspects for any project acquisition opportunities;
4. Staying up-to-date with key developments across relevant EU, national, regional, and local planning & environmental policies and relevant planning case law updates, disseminating key information/implications to the wider team;
5. Support the business on planning policy submissions as they arise across a range of business activities;
6. Represent EDF Renewables while engaging with external stakeholders and maintaining industry networks (e.g., planning authorities, statutory consultees, local community, landowners, industry associations, and professional bodies) in a professional and competent manner;
7. Provide the requisite oversight and advice in relation to project planning permit compliance in preparation for and during the delivery stages;
8. Participate in community engagement activities to support projects e.g. door-to-door engagements and public exhibitions;
9. Manage and report on all planning risks, ensuring management is kept fully abreast of any significant developments.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. You must be based in Ireland.
2. Extensive experience of similar roles in the renewable energy, electricity generation, land, or planning sectors.
3. Ideally town planning or environmental background experience in a local authority, consultancy, or related development industry.
4. Chartered Status and membership in Planning from a relevant professional organisation (MIEEM, MIEMA, MRUP, MIPI, CIWEM, Engineers Ireland).
5. Proven track record in securing planning consent for infrastructure projects in Ireland along with excellent written communication skills, with the ability to integrate into the existing team and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines.
