The Metropole Hotel is recruiting for a Conference & Banqueting Assistant to join the Conference & Banqueting Team.

This is on a fixed term basis, as the hotel enters the Christmas period Main Duties: Maximises customer satisfaction by ensuring that the written details of all assigned meetings, conference and banquets are arranged properly Make a pre-check of Conference and Banqueting set ups, ensuring the facility is in the best possible condition before the function commences.
Conduct pre meeting briefings with event organisers reviewing their needs and advising them of meeting room facilities and communication methods Meets and Exceeds customer expectations by ensuring department provides excellent customer care Follow up on all events taking place ensuring that all are running efficiently and to time Review daily event sheets and looking ahead to future days for planning Monitor lighting, temperature maintenance and sanitation across the department Contributes to the general up keeping of function rooms and related areas and report any defects for repair and maintenance, ensuring it is logged on the PMS.
Ensure that all conference and meeting equipment is in working order, maintained and stored properly.
Service and refills food and beverage as required and charges according to departmental procedures Co-operates closely with colleagues to ensure that prompt service is given at all times Assists in the set up and break down of Banquets and Functions, assists in the smooth running of the Meeting Rooms, Ballroom, Cinema Room and any space that accommodates functions and privately booked events.
Assist in proactively managing activities for the above areas assigned to you, to improve & maintain productivity, food quality, service.
