About the Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced eCommercial Underwriter to join our hybrid-working team, supporting the growth and delivery of ambitious targets into 2028.
As a key member of our Digital Underwriting Team, you will be responsible for underwriting, relationship management, and managing our B2B platform to deliver commercial combined, property, and liability business aligned with our risk appetite.
Working closely with broker partners, Business Development Executives, and the Digital Underwriting Manager, you will proactively deliver strategic and operational goals, engaging with internal stakeholders in Sales, Pricing, and Portfolio Management to support our overall service and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver prompt and accurate online underwriting support to our broker partners.
* Profitably underwrite property & liability risks via a B2B platform in accordance with underwriting guidelines and Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) to achieve GWP targets.
* Review and issuing property & liability renewals in accordance with underwriting guidelines, DUA, and service level agreements.
* Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of comprehensive insurance solutions that meet broker needs while aligning with company objectives.
* Share knowledge and technical expertise with colleagues and contribute to personal and team development.
* Identify and implement improvements in processes, proposition, or service to best serve our customer base.
* Conduct quality assurance checks on underwriting decisions made by peers to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and standards.
Essential Experience:
* A minimum 1 year's experience in commercial insurance (property and liability).
* APA, CIP, Dip CII, Grandfathered, or ACII qualifications.
* A proactive approach to work.
* Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and productively.
* Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support.
Desirable Experience:
* Previous experience underwriting in a B2B context.
* Knowledge of the insurance industry, including regulatory requirements and market trends.
Regulatory Notice:
This role is subject to Minimum Competency Code (MCC) as provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland. A recognised insurance qualification may be required for this position.
Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland. This role is a Control Function (CF-4, 8) and is subject to F&P Standards.
The successful candidate will be provided with the relevant Conduct Standards (including Additional Conduct Standards) training, where required.
