**Head Chef Opportunity at 4* Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel
The hotel is an established four-star establishment with a strong reputation, having received awards for its restaurant.
This role is available immediately, and you will oversee a team of experienced chefs, many of whom have been with the company for several years.
We operate a bar, restaurant, meeting and function rooms, as well as outside catering services.
As Head Chef, you are responsible for all aspects of managing the kitchen areas and personnel, ensuring the preparation of menu items to the highest standards.
You will coordinate roster scheduling, manage labor costs, assist with recruitment, and oversee staff productivity and performance.
Develop and cost seasonal menus that incorporate local ingredients to maintain our Legenderry Food status and Taste of Ulster awards.
**Key Responsibilities:)
* Hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment with ability to control service from front to ensure maximum results and guest satisfaction.
* Able to prioritize, organize and delegate work assignments and oversee staff performance with prompt follow-up where required.
* Promote positive work relationships with suppliers, service personnel and other departments.
* Implement and document HACCP efficiently, ensuring all standards are maintained, reduce food and energy wastage in kitchens.
* Help develop team spirit amongst kitchen staff – Chefs and Kitchen Porter team to maintain cohesive team.

* Ability to operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and issue request for repairs promptly when required.
* Oversight and assistance in directing on-boarding and training of new hires and maintain ongoing training program for existing staff.

**Skills:**
Kitchen Management - ability to constantly perform well in high-pressure and fast-paced environment with busy bar, restaurant and banqueting facility.
Excellent organisational skills to ensure smooth running of kitchen.
In-depth knowledge of all sections in a kitchen to efficiently manage operations.
Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate kitchen team.
Solid financial acumen, including ability to manage budget and manage food costs.
Creativity and superior culinary skills to create exceptional dishes for our menus.
Food Hygiene, Allergen and HACCP certification.
