Job Description
* Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
* Managing the recruitment and selection process to ensure a high-quality workforce.
* Supporting circa 100 employees with employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
* Nurturing a positive working environment by maintaining a company culture that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality personnel.
* Overseeing and managing a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
* Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR Ireland and UK requirements.
* Assessing training needs and monitoring training programs.
* Managing the recruitment requirements of the company and developing a pool of potential candidates for the business at various levels.
* Reporting to management and providing decision support through HR metrics.
The Successful Applicant
A successful HR Manager should have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
* A solid understanding of HR functional areas and practices.
* A strong business/customer service orientation, with the ability to work as an independent decision maker.
* A relevant professional qualification or membership of a professional body such as Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or similar is desired.
* Previous experience in the transport and distribution industry.
* Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
* Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire performance through excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of HR software and databases.
* The ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business needs.
